Terms and Conditions

Effective from 21 September 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Khata Business Academy Pvt. Ltd. ("Khata Academy", "we"). They apply to khataacademy.com and the Khata Academy app for Android and iOS. By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• If you are under 18, you need the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
• Keep your information accurate.

2. Your account and devices

• Your account is personal. Do not share your login, transfer your account or let others use your courses.
• You may stay signed in on two devices at a time: one mobile device and one laptop or computer. To sign in on a different device, sign out of one of them first.
• If you are locked out — for example after losing or resetting a device — contact Support and we will clear all active sign-ins on your account.
• You are responsible for activity on your account and must report unauthorised access.
• We may suspend accounts showing sharing, fraud or misuse.

3. Course access, duration and renewal

• Enrolling gives you a limited, personal, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the course for your own learning.
• Unless the course page says otherwise, access lasts one year from the date you enrol. It covers the course videos, live-class recordings, notes and other resources included in that course, on the website and in the app.
• There is no limit on views. Within your access year you can watch anything included in the course as many times as you like.
• When the year ends you may renew for another full year at 50% of the course price. A renewal gives you a further year of access and one more full batch of live classes (see section 7). Contact Support to renew.
• You must not copy, download (unless a download is offered), record, screen-capture, share or resell content.
• Content may be updated to stay accurate and relevant.

4. Prices and payment

• Prices are in NPR unless stated otherwise.
• Payments are processed on our website by providers such as eSewa and Khalti, whose terms also apply. We never store card, bank or wallet credentials.
• Access starts once payment is confirmed. It may be suspended if a payment fails or is reversed.
• Coupons follow their stated conditions.
• Courses on your account are available in the app when you sign in.

5. Refunds

Digital content is available immediately, so fees are generally non-refundable once access is granted. We will consider a refund where:

• you were charged twice;
• you paid but did not receive access and we cannot fix it;
• content is materially different from its description;
• we cancel a live program without rescheduling;
• or the law requires a refund.

Not using a course, missing live classes or reaching the end of your access year is not a ground for a refund. To request one, contact Support with your order details. Approved refunds go to the original payment method where possible.

6. Certificates and assessments

• Where a course offers a certificate, you earn it by finishing the course and passing the assessment test on our website with a score of 70% or above. Some courses instead issue the certificate on completing at least 90% of the course. The requirement that applies is shown on the course.
• You may retake an assessment where the course allows retakes.
• Every certificate carries a unique certificate ID. Anyone can check it at khataacademy.com/certificate_validation, which shows the holder's name, the course and the issue date.
• Unless stated, certificates are not government-accredited qualifications.
• We may revoke certificates obtained through cheating, impersonation or misuse, and mark them invalid on the verification page.

7. Live classes, batches and webinars

• Live classes run in batches. Schedules are in Nepal Time (NPT) and may change.
• Sessions may run on Zoom, BigBlueButton, Agora or Jitsi, whose terms also apply.
• If you miss a live class, you can complete the course from the recording. Recordings stay available for your access period.
• If you would rather attend live, message us any time within your access year and we will place you in the Zoom classes of a later batch at no extra cost, subject to that batch's seats and schedule.
• A renewal under section 3 includes one more full batch of live classes.
• Do not record or redistribute sessions without permission.

8. Vacancies

• We publish vacancies on our website. Once you hold a Khata Academy certificate for a relevant course, you can apply for the vacancies open at that time.
• Our portal is only a bridge between employers and candidates. We guarantee nothing to either side — not the accuracy or availability of a listing, a reply, an interview, an offer, salary or terms, and not a candidate's performance or continued employment.
• Applying shares your name, contact details, selected CV and cover message with the employer. Any employment is solely between you and the employer.
• Genuine employers never ask for payment. Report suspicious listings to us.

9. Your content and community rules

You own what you post, such as comments, reviews, submissions, messages and CVs. You license us to host and display it to operate the Services.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Do not post content that is:

• abusive, harassing, hateful or discriminatory;
• sexually explicit or violent;
• false, or a fake review;
• spam;
• infringing, or someone else's personal information;
• unlawful.

Report content or users through Support or the contact page. We review reports promptly, normally within 24 hours, and may remove content and suspend or ban users without refund.

10. Academic integrity and acceptable use

Do not:

• cheat on assessments, share answers or submit others' work;
• access other accounts or our systems without permission;
• bypass security, device limits or content protection;
• use bots or scrapers;
• reverse engineer the app, except where the law permits;
• upload malware;
• impersonate anyone or use the Services unlawfully.

11. Intellectual property

Courses, videos, text, software and the Khata Academy name and logo belong to us, our instructors or licensors. Only the limited licence above is granted to you. Contact us if you believe content infringes your rights.

12. Educational information only

Our content is general education. It is not professional accounting, tax, legal, financial or investment advice. Laws and tax rates change, so consult a qualified professional before acting.

13. Mobile app terms

• You may install and use the app on devices you own or control, following these Terms and the App Store or Google Play usage rules.
• These Terms are between you and Khata Academy only, not Apple or Google. We alone are responsible for the app, its content, maintenance, support and any warranties.
• The store has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the app fails a warranty, you may notify the store for a refund of any purchase price. The store has no other warranty obligation.
• We, not the store, handle claims about the app: product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection and intellectual property claims.
• You confirm you are not in a U.S.-embargoed country and are not on a U.S. prohibited-party list.
• You must follow applicable third-party terms, such as your carrier's.
• Apple, Google and their subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these Terms.
• Permissions such as notifications are optional. Some updates may be required to keep using the app.

14. Availability, suspension and deletion

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and may change or discontinue features.
• You may delete your account at any time from Account > Delete account, website settings or by contacting us. An administrator contacts you first, and deletion completes within 48 working hours of your confirmation. Deleting your account ends your course access and certificates without refund.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or where the law requires. Your content licence ends with your account.

15. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties. We do not guarantee exam results, jobs or income.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
• Our total liability is limited to what you paid for the specific service in the 12 months before the claim.
• You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, misuse or breach of these Terms.

16. Governing law and changes

• These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal.
• Please contact us first to resolve any dispute. If it is not resolved within 30 days, the competent courts of Nepal have jurisdiction.
• We may update these Terms and will notify you of significant changes. Continuing to use the Services means you accept the updated Terms.
